As Senior Designer you will be at the forefront of the studio’s creative output. The expectation is to consistently deliver high-end creative concepts and excellent design output across all projects – striving to maximise the brief and produce exciting output. Your ability should allow you to deliver concepts and ideas efficiently and bring inspiration to projects and the team around you.

Your ability should be finely tuned, with a wealth of experience that allows you to solve creative problems effectively through strong idea generation and collaboration with the studio team and wider departments of the agency. In particular, your work should include clear understanding of how to deliver intelligent visualisation and strategy across omnichannel projects such as brand development and campaign creation. This will include participating in group meetings to shape the proposal and scope out project deliverables alongside key stakeholders.

A Senior Designer in the studio is a standard bearer for the other designers in the team to aspire to. Therefore, delivering and upholding the best practice ideals set out by the Creative Director and helping to support the Lead Designer in driving the team’s ability forwards is a key requirement. Within your well-accomplished skill set as a Designer, you should also be a strong project manager, confident with time management and be at ease with presenting your work and ideas internally to the stakeholder team, colleagues from other departments and potentially even clients.

Job responsibilities

  • Producing excellent, eye-catching design concepts which drive high standards and ensures only the best work is released to our clients
  • Ensuring the creative output is highly competent, inspirational in its execution and brings excitement to the project/work
  • Taking a leading role in pitches and high-value creative concept presentations alongside Creative Director and/or Lead Designer
  • Oversee and lead all manner of design projects from conception to delivery
  • Contributing to creative team development with inspiration, insight and design trends found in the wider creative industry
  • Defining and setting best practice ideals and consistently delivering expert quality output with high levels of contribution towards the success of the studio
  • A strong problem solver and idea generator with excellent collaboration skills to maximise project briefs
  • Strong communication skills for working alongside the Creative Director, Lead Designer and Client Services to brainstorm and scope out what success looks like in any given task
  • Strong and confident project and time management abilities to help achieve maximum profitability across projects
  • Collaborating across the agency to inspire creativity
  • Ability to present work confidently and competently to the wider internal teams/departments and to clients where required

Person specification

  • BSc degree in Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (desirable)
  • Present an exceptional portfolio that demonstrates originality, conceptual thinking, and thoughtful execution
  • Current position held within a similar role
  • Significant agency experience
  • The understanding of how an agency works, working within tight deadlines
  • Experience of collaborating and driving creative ideas forward with other disciplines across the design spectrum
  • Expert level Mac operating and creative software skills
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Software – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Brand Design, Brand Strategy and Advertising Campaign skills
  • Experience in After Effects and Premier would be advantageous
  • Excellent and highly experienced design, creativity and visualisation abilities
  • A clear ability to produce high-level, engaging design. Expert visualisation skills and execution. Demonstrating a current and relevant style to work across digital and social media output. Ideation and problem-solving skills to answer briefs with excellent results.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to forge and execute exciting ideas
  • Excellent problem-solving and idea generation abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
