When you submit your application, you will receive an automated thank you email, confirming we have received your application. If your application matches what we’re looking for, we’ll be in touch to arrange a brief pre-screening call; this gives you the opportunity to ask us questions about the role at the Focus Agency Group. Your details are then passed to the hiring managers for consideration and sorted for a 1st stage interview. Depending on the role you are applying for, you may be invited to prepare a presentation or complete a task which you would present at a 2nd stage interview.

Unfortunately, we receive a high volume of applications which means we are unable to respond to every applicant. We aim to respond within one working week if your application is successful and to progress you to the interview stage.

Familiarise yourself with the job description and the role you’re interviewing for. Make notes and prepare questions ahead of your interview. Asking questions shows us you are interested and engaged. Try and relax and be yourself during your interview.

Interviews can take place virtually or in person. This is dependent on the position you are applying for. It is always best to come into the office if you’re able to, however, we understand this is not always possible. Therefore, you may have a virtual interview for your first interview and your second interview would be in person at one of our offices. You will be informed about this prior to your interview. We usually use Microsoft Teams for virtual interviews.

You may also be asked to complete a task, presentation, or written test as part of the interview process – this depends on the role you have applied for. You will be given everything you need ahead of time to ensure you can fully prepare.

This depends on the number of interviews we have scheduled for the role you’re applying for. We hope to get back to you as soon as we can. We can let you know at your interview where we are with the process and hopefully provide you with a timeframe at that stage. We’ll ensure you are notified as soon as the process in complete. This is usually in the form of an email.

Once the interview process has taken place and we are ready to make an offer, we’ll call you to discuss further. We’ll make a verbal offer during the call; this gives you the opportunity to ask any further questions you may have. We will follow up by sending you an official letter to confirm all the details along with our benefits package. You will need to accept the offer by signing the letter and returning it to us.

As a creative team, we believe it’s important that people come into the office regularly. We believe this helps you to connect with your team and the brand, while collaborating and learning from each other.

At the Focus Agency Group, we have various roles, and they have different requirements and sets of operating priorities.

Our approach to hybrid working falls on a spectrum. Depending on your role, you may be required to work fully on-site, or a blend of on-site and remote, (hybrid) where appropriate. There is always an expectation that you are able to come into the office if required. You should, therefore, ensure you are within commutable distance to the office where your position is based.

We do not offer fully remote working.

Once you have returned your acceptance letter, we will agree a suitable start date so that we can send your contract of employment, along with other relevant documents. When you have had time to read through everything and are ready to officially accept, you just need to sign and return the documentation to us.

We will be in communication with you about your start and onboarding process, which includes online awareness courses, so that you are fully prepared ahead of your first day.

If you have questions during this time, we are just a phone call away. We ask everyone to come to our HQ in Feering, Colchester, for their office and HR induction, and to collect their equipment.

Your new line manager will prepare the rest of your induction days and will talk you through this process on your first day.

We currently offer one week’s work experience per year, which is usually carried out in June or July. If you would like to join, please do get in touch.

Currently, we do not offer apprenticeships or graduate opportunities, though this is something we are working on.
