As an Account Manager in our Client Services department, you will hold a pivotal position at the intersection of our client’s aspirations and our company’s capabilities. Reporting directly to the Account Director, you will be entrusted with the critical task of ensuring the seamless execution of client projects, ensuring they are delivered within defined timeframes and budget constraints.

Your role will be instrumental in nurturing and strengthening our client relationships. You will serve as the primary point of contact, acting with agility to address client inquiries, resolve challenges, and foster open lines of communication. By attending client meetings and providing timely responses, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining client satisfaction and trust.

Furthermore, your proactive approach will extend to identifying opportunities for additional collaboration with assigned clients. You will explore avenues to expand client accounts, leveraging your keen business acumen and industry insights to drive growth.

Efficient financial management will be a cornerstone of your role, as you provide accurate quotes for client projects and oversee the invoicing process. Your attention to detail and precision will ensure all financial transactions are executed flawlessly.

Job responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain close working relationships with assigned clients, serving as the primary point of contact. This involves effective communication, problem-solving, attending client meetings, and promptly responding to requests
  • Proactively identify opportunities for additional work from assigned clients, seeking avenues to expand client accounts through new business opportunities
  • Provide accurate quotes for clients on all projects and oversee the invoicing process
  • Maintain meticulous records of meetings, decisions, and follow-up actions
  • Collaborate closely with clients to develop comprehensive and concise project briefs, ensuring a deep understanding of their requirements
  • Act as a liaison between clients and the Creative team, facilitating clear communication and providing detailed written briefs with necessary resources for the studio
  • Coordinate with the Creative and Development teams to ensure high-quality project delivery within set deadlines and budgets
  • Work closely with the Account Executives to guide projects through each stage, ensuring proper management and processing
  • Oversee daily management of projects in the studio alongside your Account Executive, taking the lead in project management activities to adhere to the established timeline
  • Ensure the consistent use of Synergist, ensuring every project has accurate job numbers, estimates, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to the assigned Account Executive
  • Effectively manage and evaluate the performance of the Account Executive to ensure they meet their targets and remain motivated in their role
  • Keep the team informed with relevant knowledge and updates
  • Proactively address all client requirements
  • Work may involve regular unsocial hours including early starts and late finishes to meet deadlines. Long hours and time spent in meetings or entertaining is the norm along with travel as part of an Account Manager role
  • Provide coaching and growth opportunities for direct reports
  • Communicate key messages effectively within your team
  • Maintain and update Synergist with accurate and current information, including client details
  • Follow server file management protocols in alignment with company procedures, maintaining a systematic approach to data organisation
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required in alignment with primary responsibilities, contributing to the overall success of the team

Person specification

  • A Degree, preferably in advertising, marketing, communications, business management, or a relevant Diploma is desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise in Account Management, particularly within an agency environment
  • Proven track record of effectively managing a diverse portfolio of accounts and engaging with various stakeholders
  • Possess a keen sense of commercial awareness and demonstrate exceptional business acumen
  • Established proficiency in proactively identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities
  • Track record of consistently delivering results that surpass client expectations
  • Extensive experience in team management, showcasing strong leadership abilities
  • Highly adept in the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, complemented by outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
  • Demonstrated mastery in writing, including strong grammatical proficiency and proofreading skills
  • Skilled in prioritisation and effective time management across multiple clients in a high-paced work environment
  • Exhibits excellent planning and organisational capabilities, ensuring seamless workflow and project execution
  • Possesses an unwavering commitment to meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrates exceptional presentation skills, conveying information effectively and engagingly
