2024 Trends from January Furniture Show

02/02/24

We had the opportunity to attend the January Furniture Show 2024, where we explored contemporary furniture, innovative design concepts, and homewares from over 400 brands and 50,000 products. Esther, our Senior Interior Designer, delved into the latest styles and trends for 2024 at this exciting event held in Birmingham. Here are her key takeaways from the show:

Boucle Everywhere

The boucle trend is still going strong and is expected to continue through the spring and summer of 2024.

Earthy tones

Earthy tones dominate the colour palette this year, with shades like mustard, olive green, bottle green, rust, and coral being seen on upholstery and soft furnishings.

Natural Shades

Beiges, neutrals, and natural shades were prevalent in furniture and styling accessories showcased at the event. These colours are a great way to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in your space.

Organic and Natural Elements:

Organic ceramics were widely used for styling, complemented by simple botanical accents. This combination adds a touch of nature and enhances the overall aesthetic of any space.

Stone and Marble Tops:

Stone and marble tops were popular choices for side tables, dining tables, bedside tables, and sideboards. These materials add a touch of elegance and sophistication to furniture pieces.

Wood Tones

Mango wood, light oaks, and dark wood tones were prominent in the living room and bedroom ranges. These natural wood finishes contribute to a warm and cosy ambience.

Carved and Fluted Details

Carved and fluted furniture details are still very much present, adding interest and visual appeal to statement furniture pieces.

Carver Dining Chairs

Carver dining chairs gained popularity for their ability to add interest to dining tables. Comfortable fabrics such as boucle, velvet, and faux leather were used for the seats.

Rattan

Rattan was a popular material seen in various furniture pieces, including bedsides, wardrobes, beds, and armchairs. It adds a touch of natural texture and warmth to the space.

Heavy Textures and Upholstery

Textured cushions and natural materials were used extensively to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere.

Curved Furniture

Curved furniture with an organic feel was embraced, adding a soft and elegant touch to interior spaces.
