Overview

Our client asked us to present an interior proposal for a three-bedroom townhouse in Bath, appealing to young professionals and young families in and around the area, as well as those customers from Bristol looking to move. The home needed to capture a fun and memorable lifestyle, taking inspiration from the area and pairing this with strong colours and modern furniture to promote a good use of space for the demographic.

The Brief

We were asked to design and install a four-bedroom family home in the centre of Bath, taking inspiration from the local architecture of Bath city centre. The development has been designed in keeping with the local area, utilising the famous Bath stone, which we took inspiration from for our colour palette. The client was looking for an aspirational feel, whilst still being achievable for Shared Ownership buyers.

The Execution

We took inspiration from the local architecture of Bath, the famous yellow limestone, the cultural heritage and popular tourist attractions to form the concept of our design. We pulled on the shapes within the architecture such as the arches of the bridges, the chevrons of the rooftops and the linear form of the columns within the historic Roman Baths. We paired this research with modern and accessible furniture and rich colours from olive to mustard to add warmth throughout the home, giving each room its own personality. We had some fun with the children’s bedroom and went all out with Jane Austen books hanging from the ceiling, adding a memorable stamp on the home and a lasting impression for customers. Throughout, the home was styled with local products purchased from the Roman Baths, museums and coffee shops alongside high street brands to bring a welcomed balance of shopping local to the development.
