How we helped

We were tasked by Telford Homes to create a warm and functional multi-use space that the residents could use at their leisure for a range of different activities. The space needed to create a home-from-home feel almost acting as an extension to their home.

The interior of the lounge was to be inspired and reflective of the style and colour palette of the Gallions Point marketing suite that we had fulfilled previously. Both spaces, therefore, needed to be cohesive with one another when they were complete.

What was achieved

We began by looking at the potential activities that could take place in the residents’ lounge. We tried to keep the lounge as flexible as possible keeping it open-plan and using the furniture to break-up and zone the different areas. We also replicated the room divide that was designed for the original marketing suite which helped separate the different zones.

Using high benches by the kitchen café area allowed the flexibility of using that as breakout or for an informal work area for residents. We subtly divided up the large space creating pockets of either work or relaxation space with high back sofas and coffee tables.

We carefully zoned the spaces with the more relaxed furniture to the front situated near the TV with the more private, work-based areas to the back.

We also created a meeting room that could be used by residents.

In terms of colour palette, we selected suitable contract upholsteries that matched the colours of the Gallions Point marketing suite, and also matched the wall paint colours.

What the client had to say

“After seeing the processes and results that the Focus Spaces team brought to the Gallions Point marketing suite, it made sense to commission them to bring the same expertise and flair to the development’s residents’ lounge. By using a similar palette to the marketing suite, the lounge not only looks great but also adds a sense of familiarity to our homeowners. The space itself hits all our residents’ requirements and is already being put to good use, particularly for those residents who need a space to work from home. We couldn’t be happier, and we look forward to working with Focus on future projects soon.” – Kerry Hill, Marketing Manager
